Aska Conference: A story of bus companies served in Tohoku earthquake

Aska conference, an annual meeting of students of Globis University, was held in this two days at Hamamtsu. About 480 students from Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka gathered in one place to listen to speeches and panel discussions of more than 30 guest speakers. Besides the official conference, volunteer students organized 16 small discussion group in the morning of the first day and 25 tables surrounding the guest speakers with drinking beers in the evening, and other activities in early morning in the second day.

Globis International MBA Program 一期生の卒業式

本日、ＩＭＢＡ一期生の6名が卒業しました。

Globis International MBA Program初の卒業式でした。

2009年4月に20数名が一期生として入学。その中でも2年でプログラムを終了した猛者6名です。マレーシア・スイス・ナイジェリア・日本と国際色豊かなメンバーです。

3年計画の私たち在校生は友人達の晴れ姿を見るために同席しました。もちろん2010期生・2011期生も駆けつけてくれました！

Class report: Venture Capital & Finance

I finally survived one of the toughest classes, Venture Capital & Finance, in the January term. Looking back the past three months, the class was exactly what I imagined of "MBA class" was like. This course covers the fundraising for entrepreneurial ventures from angels and venture capitals, which is plotted in the "specialized course in the curriculum map. It is recommended to take the order of venture management, venture strategy, and venture capital & finance.

Class report: Strategic Reorganization (Day 6) Do the textbook answers work in reality?

"Do the textbook answers of MBA program work in reality? This is one of the most frequently asked questions about gaining MBA. Some say yes and others say no. But for a turnaround manager who gained MBA degree from top-tier business school in US and succeeded in revitalizing more than 40 hotels, the answer is "YES". He clearly stated in the last class of "Strategic Reorganization".

Going out in Tokyo where blackout concern was addressed from the government

Since I had to prepare for the business plan presentation in Day 6 of "Venture Capital Finance", my team gathered at Tokyo Station last night. The deadline was coming Saturday and we had to meet in person to make our plan more concrete, though the government addressed a concern of a large scale blackout caused by high demand of electricity to cover the drop of temperature.

I am very busy for two group works of Strategic Reorganization and Venture Capital & Finance these day. Today, I post differences I observed between English program and Japanese program in Japanese for students who are considering which is suitable for yourselves.


これまで日本語では、「クリティカルシンキング２」「サービスマネジメント」「イノベイティブストラテジー」「ファイナンス２」を受講しました。

日本語コースは学生が多いので1クラス30人以上いるケースも多いです。振り替え含めたら40人近くいる時もあるようです。

As a MBA student, this question is very intriguing. How long does a company last and when it dies. This question also includes a question that what is the difference between companies that regain its momentum and those that just die after decline. This book answers these questions.

We covered Nissan on Day 3 of Strategic Reorganization. I was so excited to take a close look at its glorious V shape recovery by Carlos Ghosn started from 1999. 

IMBA seminar: Leading multi-national organization in Europe

I attended the IMBA Professional seminar held in Tokyo campus of Globis University today. The topic was " "Excluding Japan" Issue: A Global Private Equity/Venture Capital Fund Manager explains the Asian and Japanese Investment Opportunities in the Global Market and Global Careers for Japanese". To me, it was one of the best seminars conducted by IMBA office in terms of global leadership.
